The resistance of a 1 meter heating cable(1mm2) is 0.0082Ω/M(twin cores), the 14AWG power cable is 0.0042Ω/M. According to 1 meter of heating cable(1mm2) and 14AWG power cable, the electrical resistance is 0.0124Ω. The resistance of SRQ copper components and the contact resistance about 0.0125Ω.
The SRQ makes the connection completely once the total resistance is under 0.025Ω. (Total Resistance: 1 meter of heating cable(1mm2) + 1 meter of 14AWG power cable + SRQ copper components + contact resistance) Contact resistance is the resistance to current flow, when the conductors are touching one another (in the closed condition of the device).
It is also a security standard of a connector, to evaluate the loss or attenuation of current from power transmission. The lower the contact resistance, the better the connection.Too much contact resistance generates a lot of heat when power is up, which might cause a fire. Normally, the contact resistance of a connector should be under 10-20mohm(0.01ohm-0.02ohm).
